April 2020 Favorites - Chai Tea, Games, and YouTube

April 2020 Favorites - Chai Tea, Games, and YouTube

My faves list this month is pretty small since not much has changed from March. April was an odd moth for me mentally and emotionally and I found myself falling back on creature comforts and old faves.

Gaming

I’ve been a gamer for as long as I can remember. First with computer games and now with games I can play on my iPhone or iPad. I started playing Covet Fashion way back when the game first started in 2013. I’m an OG. The same goes for it’s sister game Design Home which began in 2015. These are my OG games that I play everyday and love and have been especially loving during this last month.

Same goes for Cooking Craze. This is a game I started playing in 2018 and would play occasionally but have been playing more frequently lately and loving. I love games like this (I was a huge “Flo’s Restaurant” fan - and I still play it occasionally). This, along with Seeker’s Notes is my current gaming obsession.

YouTube

I live on YouTube and it’s been a great distraction as of late. One of the channels that I’ve been subscribed to for awhile has been especially great lately. Kinky Sweat aka Alicia is a beauty YouTuber who is a fitness professional in her real life. She has been doing fantastic live streams every Wednesday and Friday during the Quarantine. Each stream has a theme: the current Wednesday theme is old school music and makeup. Last week was 90’s makeup and R&B music. This week’s was 80’s makeup and music. On Fridays we spend the first half hour with Alicia taking us through some stretches and light fitness before talking about what we are loving in makeup for the remainder of the stream. It’s been such a fun and positive space where we all as a group chat and just have a good time. I look forward to them every week.

Tea

I am a tea lover through and through. And I have been rediscovering sold old tea faves during this time. I used to drink Bigelow Vanilla Chai all the time and had stopped purchasing it for some reason. I ordered it on a lark in a grocery order in March and am now on my second box. I make it with honey and a splash of oat milk or I use my milk frother and steam a bit of milk to add on top.
