My Tiny 2021 Makeup Project Pan, 12 in 12 Project and the 15 Uses Challenge

My Tiny 2021 Makeup Project Pan, 12 in 12 Project and the 15 Uses Challenge

You’re probably thinking, “Wow.’ That’s a LOT of projects Ameerah!” And you’re not wrong lol. This year’s project pan was a bust. It started out great and the Rona hit and I pretty much abandoned it since I. wasn’t wearing makeup for the first few months of lockdown. I then started wearing makeup a couple of times a week, but I just never went back to a lot of the items. I updated the project in September and narrowed it down to four items. And I finished 3 of the 4. So I’m pretty happy with that. I couldn’t finish the Shiseido Self-Refreshing Foundation but I will get into my plans for foundations in 2021 further down this post. For my 2021 Project Pan I will be keeping things very simple for myself. I’ve chosen 7 items to finish for the year.

Project Pan Items

Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Sublime Setting Powder

CoverFX Power Play Concealer in G Medium 4

Lime Crime Bushy Brow Gel in Baby Brown

Lime Crime Bushy Brow Precision Pen in Smokey

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Chocolate

Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover

Glossier Balm Dot Com Lip Balm in Original

I forgot to mention my favorite brow products in my 2020 Makeup Favorites post earlier this week. But my faves have been the trio of brow products above. I have found a brow routine that I really like and that is giving me the end result I want. And so I figured why not set myself up for success and add these into my project pan since they are items I reach for every single time I do my makeup. The same goes for the other two items. I listed the CoverFX concealer as a 2020 favorite and I have been using the Pat McGrath powder pretty much every time I do my makeup lately. The same goes for the Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover. I have been using this every time I remove my eye makeup and it’s been getting a lot of use during the 12 Day of Untried challenge on my Instagram. The only item in this project that I am meh about is the Glossier Balm Dot Com. I’m not in love with it but it’s to terrible and I think I can finish it off since I am already a good deal through the tube.

I think the issue with why my 2020 project pan was so hard for me is that I chose products that I would have to go out of my way to remember to use and I would often forget or just not want to use them. By choosing products I am already using and know I enjoy I feel more confident that I can finish them. It shouldn’t take me all year to finish these items and so as I finish them I will rotate other items in. I have already purchased backups of my brow products since they were all on sale during Black Friday. But once these are finished I won’t be adding more brow products in. I will take a look at my collection and see what I am interested in panning next.

12 in 12 Project

I own a ton of foundations - this despite doing a foundation declutter over the summer. Like eyeshadow palettes, I love trying new foundations. And so I won’t say that I won’t be buying any new ones in 2021 since I don’t think that is a realistic goal for me lol. BUT. I do want to make sure that all of my foundations are getting used on a fairly regular basis. And so I decided on the 12 in 12 project. The goal for this project is to use one foundation for one full month and switch to a new foundation each month. Using 12 foundations in the 12 months of 2021. This is a realistic goal and project for me. I switch up my foundation often but I can use pretty much any of my foundations for a month. I have currently been using my Nars Natural Radiant Foundation every time I’ve done my makeup this month. At the end of this month I will choose another foundation to wear for the month of January.

The 15 Uses Challenge

Much like the 12 in 12 Project my goal with the 15 uses challenge is to rotate and get regular use from products in my collection. For this challenge I will be focusing on blushes, bronzers & highlighters. The goal is to use each of my single pan (I am omitting face palettes for this challenge) at least 15 times in 2021. Of all of the projects this year, this one is perhaps the most ambitious. But I think it’s doable. Again the purpose of this is to get use out of all of my collection and not just reach for the same things over and over again. I have no expectations of panning anything as it’s nearly impossible to pan these types of products unless they are the only ones you own and you use them on a daily basis.

Are you participating any project pan in 2021? Let me know in the comments!
